Laser genesis involves using Cutera’s patented vascular laser procedure at 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength to heat the skin. When the skin reaches the desired temperature, it will coagulate or collapse the microvasculature network in the dermis. This decreases redness, dilated capillaries and inflammation whilst stimulating collagen to treat fine lines and wrinkles.
Laser genesis can treat fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, pigmentation, diffused redness, acne and rosacea.

- Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours post treatment and ensure broad spectrum UVA/ UVB sunscreen is worn
- Avoid heat – hot tubs, saunas etc for 24-48 hours
- Avoid skin irritants for 3 days post treatment (active skin care – products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/ salicylic acids, astringents etc)
- Make-up can be worn if required however if would be ideal to leave skin clean post treatment
Immediate plumping of the skin can be seen right after treatment. However, 2-4 weeks is generally needed to see further improvements. For best results, multiple treatments are required.
Yes, we see excellent results with laser genesis for skin rejuvenation and diffused redness. It has minimal risks and downtime so it is a great option for someone wanting to see a result without pain or downtime.
This will depend on the condition of your skin and the result we are trying to achieve. For a series of treatments we would normally recommend 4-6 treatments and then go onto maintenance. A lot of our clients will do a series of more intense treatment with downtime and then do regular genesis sessions as maintenance.
This can vary from person to person however you can still notice results 6-12 months post treatment.
They are very different treatments and treat different concerns. Laser genesis is excellent for a pain-free, no-downtime treatment for someone wanting to target diffused redness and overall skin health. Microneedling is more uncomfortable and has some downtime but would be considered more effective for treating deeper acne scars or any deeper textural issues in the skin. In fact Laser Genesis can be perfectly combined within your Skin Needling session.
